If you’ve been reading this blog since its incarnation, you would have notice that it has gone through many metamorphoses.  The most recent was a Daily Dose.  But sadly, it too came to a slow end.

What I’ve learned from this blog is that although I truly love the hobby of scrapbooking… I can’t seem to transpose that love into a viable blog that people would be interested in reading (or that I would interested in writing).

When I do come up with a great idea for a blog or something to write, it usually takes me close to an hour to finish writing and posting it.  In that hour, I could have been scrapbooking… actually I’d rather have been scrapbooking.

So, I leave you with this thought… one day, when I think I have something worthy to share with you and I’d rather share it then start designing a page in my album, I’ll come here and open my mind and thoughts to you all.

Scrapbooking in Israel — Daily Dose #47

Well, it’s official, my camera has final kicked the bucket.  Apparently, it will cost more to fix the camera than it’s worth.  I’m not exactly sure how that works since I went online and researched the latest models of cameras and found that the camera I want (which is in the same class as what I have) costs more than what it would cost to fix my current camera.  Hmmm?

Anyway, the point is, I’ve been cameraless for exactly one month now I believe that’s the worst kind of torture/punishment you could ever inflict upon a scrapbooker.

Any suggestions for a good camera, I’d love to hear them.  Until then…

Scrapbooking in Israel — Daily Dose #46

This is the time of year that’s supposed to be filled with love, joy and excitement for the new year.  In my case though, first I was sick and then my father had a mild heart-attack, keeping him in the hospital for a week.  The good news… he’s getting out today.  And he’s actually healthy.  They’re saying it was probably associated with his Diabetes.

In the meantime, it makes me realize how much more I need to include my dad in my scrapbook layouts.  My pages are filled with my children and occasionally myself or husband.  (Rarely myself, since I’m the one behind the camera.)

So, this year, I’m including some old fogies on my pages (especially mom and dad).  Who knows what will happen, right?

Scrapbooking in Israel — Daily Dose #45

A new year is upon us (on the Jewish calendar) and I’m ever so excited about all the pages and layouts I’m going to create this year.  Not to mention the directions I want to take this company, The Scrapbooker.

Did you write a list of scrapbooking resolutions for the new year?  If not, then you definitely should.  I find that when I write them down (even if it’s just one or two), I tend to actually work towards achieving them.  It’s also nice to look back on at the end of the year and see how much I’ve accomplished.

Take the time to set just one scrappin’ goal this year.  You’ll feel all the better for it!

Scrapbooking in Israel — Daily Dose #44

Remember when I told you that my daughter finished her first real school project?  I was so distraught that I didn’t have a camera to photograph the moment, but she snapped shots with her own camera.

I know her digicam is not state of the art, but these are going to be the best pics I ever scrap!  There’s lots of brown going on… which is a neutral color. You know what that means… the sky’s the limit on the color possibilities for my layout!

Scrapbooking in Israel — Daily Dose #43

Oh the joy!  I finally uploaded the pics from my daughter’s “kid” camera onto the computer.  I always said I would get around to it, but today… she insisted.  And I obliged.

FYI… in case you’re wondering, Alexandra’s camera is one of those children’s digicams that can’t/don’t break when you drop them.  It’s big and bulky, but oh so cute and I’m feeling oh so proud of my little photographer.  (Somewhat disappointed that the quality of the picture isn’t better, but hey!  It’s the thought that counts, right?)

Scrapbooking in Israel — Daily Dose #42

The Jewish New Year is neary upon us and I am scurrying around trying to get everything together in order to make a great holiday for my family.  I suppose the hardest part about a Jewish holiday is the part when you’re not allowed to snap a photo.

So, this year, I’m going to try something different… I’m going to photograph the honey cakes that I make.  And perhaps a propped picture of apples and honey for the layout as well.  I think the journalling of the memorable moments of the holiday will help tell the story and create a complete picture to remember this New Year for years to come.

First, though, I need to get my camera back from getting fixed.  Wish me luck!
