Scrapbooking in Israel — Daily Dose #6
Whew! This business stuff is harsh. Owning a retail scrapbooking supplies store in Israel is not simple. I may get slammed for saying this, but so what! The truth is, Israelis are just plain ignorant about scrapbooking as a hobby that preserves memories (i.e., acid-free, lignin free, etc.). So, I’m trying to restructure my business so that I can spread scrapbooking to ALL of Israel and not just the Anglos of this country. Although, if every Anglo in Israel (or at least the female ones) were scrappers, let’s just say my husband could work for me full time. There’s an interesting goal to work towards.
I think you are brave just for owning a business. It’s an instant shark tank right there.
Do you think that the Israelis just don’t understand the concept of scrapbooking, or do you think they are more frustrated with the time process?
We are so fortunate here in the States to not worry about terrorists and kassam rockets on a daily basis. Do some of those things get in the way of thinking about a hobby like scrapbooking?
Scrapbooking is such a monumental thing in the States. It does surprise me that more Israelis have not gotten bit by the scrapping bug.
I am keeping good thoughts that the Israelis will come to embrace scrapbooking too.
